An older 777-200 (not 200ER) with older blue angled lie-flat business class seats. The seat is motorized
and can be made flat - but not completely horizontal. The seat configuration is 2-2-2 so window seats
don't have direct aisle access. Best to get one of the middle two seats, otherwise you may have to climb
over someone to get to the bathroom, or you have someone climbing over you to get to the bathroom.

LAX-Tokyo Singapore Airline is still using the older airplane for this route. The seat doesn't fully
recline. My husband was 6'4" and he found the seat uncomfortable when it fully extend due to the limited
leg room - if you are shorter than 6', the seat is not that bad. I still find it hard to sleep in these
type of seats, seat width is a lot narrower than newer airplanes.

I took my family on a round the world trip in April 2010 and few on Singapore Airlines all the way in
Business Class. Flew on the A330 from Perth to Singapore which was not bad, however found the seats a
little small and not as comfortable considering it was a late flight and would have liked to get some
sleep. From Singapore to Tokyo we flew on the A380, which we have done a few time before and was a good
as always, lots of room and the bed was nice and flat and easy to make, had seats in first section and up
stairs which in my opinion is the best location. Tokyo to LA on B747-400, older aircraft and found the
seats comfortable, but not as good as A380. London to Singapore on the A380 and again had same seats as
before and it was excellent.

Singapore to Cairo they use the older configuration 777-200's. The seating should really be classed as
premium economy, as it does not meet the standards you expect of SIA. On a 10 hour+ flight, seat does not
fully recline, or provide a restful position. Beware first row of seats as the light above at the doorway
to galley is on all night.

I read a lot about the seats being too wide to be comfortable but loved the extra room. A380 was
brilliant, staff were attentive and found the seat easy to change into a bed for sleeping.

My husband and I were on the upper deck on row 14 in the middle. Very wide seats, we're both over 6 feet
and had plenty of space. Putting up the bed was a bit difficult but the stewardess came to explain how it
worked.

This Ultra-wide seat is one to polarise opinions. You either love it or hate it. Seat adjustments are
more limited compared to the older seats. Sideways, legs under, into the extension, etc. Sleeping
arrangements suit me, the flatness and width of the bed is perfect. The seat takes a bit of getting used
to, but once you've figured it out, it's very nice.

I was not impressed with this seat. It does lay totally flat and provides a good sleep. But in the
upright position this seat is very disappointing. This very wide seat can make a grown man feel small.
Sounds appealing but in fact you get lost in this seat. Armrests are too far apart and I was never able
to adjust the seat to get comfortable. Very little lumbar support and I didn't see any way to inflate
lumbar like some airline seats offer. I was served a snack while the seat was flat for sleeping and the
flight attendant said that I could just sit up without putting the seat upright. This was very
uncomfortable as there is not really any way to comfortably lean back once the seat is converted for
sleeping. One positive about the Singapore seating area is there is plenty of space to stow a laptop,
reading materials, etc. I sat in row 14 and there is a shelf that folds down that provides great storage.
Not sure whether this was unique to the 14th row as these are configured a little differently. I think
Singapore could have done a better job on this seat design.

I had the less exciting experience of flying FRA-SIN on a B747 (upstairs) and SIN-SYD on a loud B777-200.
Both feature the old angled seat, which is very narrow. Leg room as sufficient, but I have found angled
sleeping to be impossible. Massage function of the seat did not work on the FRA-SIN segment. Service was
adequate on the FRA-SIN segment and very good on the SIN-SYD segment. IFE in old fleet offers fewer
movies and CDs in business class than are available on the A380 in economy. Disappointment was the lack
of a personal items bag, only sleeping mask and weird socks were supplied. The blanket was too thin to
actually keep me warm.

I prefer the business class seats on their older aircraft - those on the 777-300ER (and the A380) are
uncomfortable - limited back support and recline when sitting and I had to sit and sleep on a diagonal to have enough leg room to accommodate my feet, which did not fit into the cavity for feat and while
sleeping, the lack of fit of my feet into the cavity constantly woke me up. Business class on the
747-400 was much more comfortable. Wider seats where you cannot rest your arms and that have reduced
seat pitch mean business class on the 777-300ER is uncomfortable for taller people.

Good but less than expected. Seat is full leather, very wide but doesn't recline much. To convert to
bed, you actually have to get out and seat has to flip over - very different from seats on EK and CX.
Sleeping not as comfortable - because of the conversion there's a metal hinge that sits right in your
thigh and the padded fitted sheet is not think enough. Could use some more room - I'm 72inches exactly
and it was tough to fit comfortably. Overall very good flight but converted bed not as good as expected.

I feel the need to counter the criticism of others concerning the comfort of the seats. The staff are
excellent and assist those who are unsure on how to set up their seat for sleeping.
The lie flat 180 sleep position is superb. Only problem is price.

ConsideA very quiet plane, and the removal of the central lockers makes it quite spacious in side. The seat is
wider than the pitch in many economy cabins, but why does the seatbelt only cover about 2/3 of the width.
Turning the seat into the bed takes all of about 20 seconds, and shouldn't tax the brains of anyone
travelling on business, however the odd position / angle isn't too comfortable, and you can't sleep on
your front easily, and if you want to sleep on your side or are taller than 6 foot and sleeping on your
back,

Considering the efforts SIA went to with the new cabin layout, I am a little reluctant to criticise the
Business Class seat. Whilst the 1-2-1 layout is ideal, the LCD screen large, with seat length to match,
the seat is very uncomfortable for any journey beyond that of 1 hour. As mentioned by others, there is no
actual comfort zone within the seat. The seat is too wide and the seatback too hard & upright. A proper
armchair should allow the user to utilise both armrests comfortably. The SIA seat, whilst sleek, is like
sitting on a sterile sofa in a musuem - it looks the part, but you cannot sit stationary for more than 15
minutes. With the help of 6-8 pillows, I just about managed to get the right fit.

AKL-SIN. New large/wide Business Class Seats. First impression, the cabin and seats looked a bit cramped,
but upon sitting and getting to know the seat features there is surprisingly a lot of room to stretch
out. Cabin was almost empty on this flight, the service, food and inflight entertainment was excellent.

This seat in both aircraft is a fantastic bed, even with the angle that you have to sleep due to the
space for your feet! However for sitting which can be for long periods on a day flight, the seat is one
of the worst Business Class seats I have used! It has no shape or contours for your comfort and is like
sitting on a plank. The wide seat is used in all the marketing however the comfort factor lets it down
big time and this is such a shame because everything else with Singapore is great!
