It seems with the new seat design on the A340 that all round comfort has been sacrificed on the altar of flat
beds. A flat bed is not more comfortable if the leg room and body space are too small. The older semi flat seats
were actually more comfortable because they had more room to move. The configuration of the seating and the need
to cram in so many people causes this problem. On the left and centre it is a 2 seat, 1 seat configuration with
alternate rows of 2 and 1 seats. This means that the person in a single seat row relies on the space between the
two seats in front for leg room. This actually results in a space no bigger than a shoe box for your feet when
fully reclined. Meanwhile the window side seat for a two seat row is very claustrophobic and you have to climb
over your adjoining person to get out - with some difficulty.

Seat uncomfortable for sitting and did not fully recline for sleeping. The stewardesses were somewhat
matronly and the drinks service was painfully slow. There was an unacceptable wait of 35 minutes from
finishing my starter to receiving my main course and the food was not up to business class standards.

Very uncomfortable. Laughably terrible entertainment system which reminded me of the 90s as it kept
crashing and had without question the worst selection of movies I have come across on an airline for about
a decade. Seat needed a lot of TLC and I left feeling sorry for my company as they had paid for the ticket!
I also realised I'd rather fly economy on several other airlines than put up with 11 hours each way again
on another Finnair business class flight.

I find the business class on Finnair A340 not really good. It's just an average business class, not in line at all with
today's standards. It will luckily be upgraded in 2014. The personal TV is almost worse than in economy and the software
is a joke. It crashes all the time. Film selection not good. Service very cold. Food just average.

I flew Finnair as it was the best connection from Australia. Unfortunately the business class is not up to the industry
standard. The seats did not fully recline to a flat position and the privacy was poor. I am 190 cm and the leg room was
okay - but this was not a flat bed seat. The staff were friendly enough but the food standards and options were below
par.

JFK-HEL, A330. Great and attentive service (business class only 1/3 full). Seat didn't recline to fully lie-flat ; while
good for sitting it wasn't good for sleeping. Cabin also too hot for my liking. Helsinki is a great airport for
transferring to other European destinations. Finnair lounge was nice.

JFK/HEL. Had 2L, one of the single seats. Relatively comfortable fully flat bed, but at 6'3" with big feet I felt a bit
hemmed in at the foot end. Night-time cabin temperature was too hot for my liking. Mediocre food. Professional, efficient
cabin service. Amenity kit only contained socks, ear plugs and eye mask - no toothbrush or lotions.

Seat did not lie flat and the angle was rather acute. Pillows, blankets provided great as was the nose reduction
headphone. Finnair needs to upgrade their business seats soon to remain competitive.

HEL-BKK. New seats are comfortable 180 degree lay flat. Plenty of space for me even despite being 6'4" tall. However,
food and inflight entertainment a very, very long way short of a business class experience. In short, if you want to
stretch out and sleep in a comfortable seat then great, if you want the rest of the business class bells and whistles,
look elsewhere.

Only reason why I fly Finnair is the fact that you save time coming from Australia. Finnair Business class does not
compare with other airlines and is overpriced. Perhaps it's time to upgrade the seats!

I flew alone, had a single seat, ie. No seat next to me, which provides privacy. Lie-flat bed only functions if you are
less than 180 cm tall. Eat well before flight, food is mediocre, service on board is uncaring (apparently Finnair is
constantly in disagreements with trade unions, which probably results in flight attendants' unwillingness to show their
best care to passengers). Value for money is not in line with the ticket price.

Quite comfortable lay flat seats with good duvet and pillow for sleeping. The seats are a little narrow but not
uncomfortably so. The entertainment system as good as other airlines. The food was acceptable and the cabin crew
professional and friendly.

Finnair Business to Tokyo, first leg from UK to Helsinki was a nightmare economy seats with a curtain drawn across, rock
hard seats we booked business as we both have disability, inflight entertainment was a mini-screen with subtitled how to
make puppets. Helsinki -Tokyo was as advertised, so be warned about the first leg of the journey, I had to rate a 1 as
there is no zero.

The cabin has a good spacious feel with individual seats for privacy. Good food service and attentive,
experienced cabin crew. This is a good service to use via Helsinki if you want to avoid the main European
hubs and with very good onward connections.

Business class cabin with 2-2-1 seating. Flat bed and quite comfortable. I am 6ft 2ins tall and unlike
some beds where you can stretch out over the end of the seat this is a confined cabin but that limitation
is made up for by comfortable seat and bed settings. It is a bit odd that when lie flat the seat is so
low to the ground that the seat shell is therefore rather high relative to you and if you are a little
claustrophobic it might bother you.

Newest A330-300 in the fleet with the latest cabin layout (2x2x1). I had seat 2L - one of the single
seats. The seat converted to a fully flat bed, which together with a thick blanket and firm pillow,
facilitated a good night's sleep. Other improvements include a larger TV screen than on the A340, and a
section for storing shoes.

New flatbed configuration on the A330 a big improvement - provided you're not overweight or more than 6'
tall. Unique configuration means seats fairly narrow and not a lot of room to maneuver your legs. Seats
are not as plush as others and not as many variations in positions, but the seats lie flat and
horizontal. Also, almost all seats have direct aisle access without having to climb over anyone.

Some of the niceties of travelling business class are a little lacking. The choice on the entertainment
system is probably the most telling indicator of this together with the "not flat" seats. The quality of
the food is very good and the staff are helpful without being intrusive. The new lounge at Helsinki
airport is a little cold and impersonal but in the normal course of events you may not have time to use
it anyway if you are transferring betwen planes. I had the benefit of using the lounge for several hours
after a plane delay due to snow at Helsinki airport but since many other European airports had closed
completely the sanctuary of the lounge was welcome.

HEL-HKG. The seats are excellent. Business cabin seats 30 passengers. Very good pitch. 16:9 LCD panel
for video-on-demand entertainment. Each seat equipped with electric power socket and USB + LAN sockets.
Seats could be lie-flat at an incline. Seat back massage airbag available as extra feature. Food is
quite good. Service excellent, flight attendants courteous and attentive.

Helsinki - Mumbai. I was positively surprised by Finnair business cabin. After reading this forum I was
prepared for the worst. But the seats were good (wider than BA) but did not recline full, the food was
excellent, the wine good and the service very good. I would definitely fly this again.
